  1. "move tool" --- this tool is used to move/drag a layer.


  2. "select tool" --- click down and drag to select part of your image. right click this tool for different types of selections.


  3. "lasso tool" --- similar to the above tool, but freehand. right click this tool for different types of selections.


  4. "magic wand tool" --- this tool will select one color on your image, just click.


  5. "crop tool" --- this will crop your image. to use: click and drag this across a portion of your image. right click, choose crop.


  6. "slice tool" --- use this tool to slice your images, if needed.


  7. "healing brush tool" --- to see what this does, just click on an image and drag.


  8. "brush tool" --- a very popular tool. to use: click on an image to stamp the brush. if you want more brushes there are some on this site for download. otherwise, try searching on google for "photoshop brushes". right click this tool for a pencil tool or to use the color replacement tool.


  9. "pattern stamp tool" --- choose a pattern, click on your image, and drag. right click this tool for different options.


  10. "history brush tool" --- just play around with this one to get an idea.


  11. "eraser tool" --- click down and drag to erase.


  12. "paint bucket & gradient tool" --- choose a color (where it's blue [<] - click that & choose a color) and click on your image to fill an area with that color. right click this tool for the gradient tool. to use the gradient tool, select a gradient (at the top). go to your image; click down and drag.


  13. "smudge/blur/sharpen tool" --- to use, click down on your image and drag in the area you want to alter. right click this tool for different options (smudge, blur, or sharpen).


  14. "dodge/burn/sponge tool" --- to use, click down on your image and drag in the area you want to alter. right click this tool for different options (dodge, burn, or sponge).


  15. "pen tool" --- right click this tool for more options.


  16. "text tool" --- text tool. click on your image and type some text. when you're done typing, click on the move tool (top tool on toolbar) and move the text to where you want it to be.


  17. "path selection tool" --- right click for direct selection tool.


  18. "shape tool" --- different shapes. click on your image and drag. right click this tool for more shapes.


  19. "notes tool" --- use this to write notes.


  20. "eyedropper tool" --- click anywhere on your image to select it's color. right click for different tools.


  21. "hand tool" --- something similar to a scrollbar. when the canvas you are working with is too big click down with the hand and drag to navigate the image.


  22. "zoom tool" --- zooms in and out.


  23. "default colorl" --- resets to the default foreground and backgrounds colors - black & white.


  24. "foreground color" --- click to change the foreground color.


  25. "background color" --- click to change the background color.
